Hoops
Hoops (originally known as Pink Kitty) is one of the first, (publicly) main characters of hoops&yoyo. Originally debuting in 2001, he is the "leader" of the trio that consists of himself, Yoyo, and Piddles. He is voiced by Mike Adair.
Appearance
Hoops is a big-headed pink cat with large pointy ears, large eyes with small black pupils, a large black oval-shaped nose, and a long tail that curves upward at the end.
Personality
Official biography: The eternal optimist. Got a problem? He's got 15 ways to solve it. He just knows everything will work out great in the end--but it may take a few off-the-wall twists and turns to get there.[1]
Relationships
Yoyo
Yoyo is Hoops' best friend, since the two together appear in ecards together. He fools around and tell jokes with him. The two have a brotherly relationship, as shown in the "Making of your birthday E-card", where Yoyo purposefully messes up the E-card and Hoops gets annoyed by it. Hoops can be sometimes rude or apathetic to Yoyo, as shown in the book "Friends Rock!", where he pulls pranks or cause trouble on him. In "Coffee Shots: Ep 1", Hoops laughs at Yoyo because he forgot to go to a meeting. In Walking Along song, Hoops jokingly says that the song is better because Yoyo is gone.
Piddles
Although not as much as Yoyo, Hoops and Piddles are also great friends. In Hoops and Yoyo Manners - Hallway "How are ya?", when the "right" animation is played, Hoops and Piddles have a typical friendly "how are you" conversation. In the Bongo Christmas Music video, Hoops wanted to join Piddles, along with Yoyo to sing and dance with him. Despite being in good terms. Hoops can be either annoyed by Piddles or makes fun of her. In the same manners animation (referring to Hallway "How are you?", when the "wrong" animation is played, Hoops walks away and ignores Piddles when she was about to answer him. Almost throughout the Haunted Halloween special, he and Yoyo won't take Piddles seriously, or are sometimes very mean to her. In the Halloween special, where Hoops and Yoyo discuss their plans to "split up", Piddles didn't agree with Hoops' plan, which makes the duo make fun of her. And in a Coffee Run cutscene, he gets annoyed by piddles.
Trivia
- The reason why Hoops color was changed to pink is because when printing the Pink Kitty was that the (RGB) purple color Bob used for his web animations was not printable when using CMKY printing.
- Hoops seems to like the cartoon Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. It's seen at the July 2005 newsletter.
- He also likes the soda Royal Crown Cola.
