Details

  • Estimated release date: June 18, 2001 (original); 2003 (remake)
  • Holiday: USA Independence Day
  • Characters featured: Hoops

Synopsis

Hoops attempts to light off a firework in a soda bottle and run for cover, only for the fuse to repeatedly fizzle out. It finally blows up after Hoops gets too close to the fuse. In the original version, Hoops fell over. In the remake version, the firework blows up in this face.

Trivia

  • This eCard was originally going to feature Bob’s green bunny character (early version of Yoyo) but this character was redesigned to a pink kitty (Hoops) Larsen, Peter (2009-07-03). For Hoops and Yoyo, success has been in the e-cards. The Orange County Register.
  • Hoops wasn’t officially named in this, only being nicknamed “Pink Kitty/Hallmark Kitty”.
  • The reason Hoops has only a firecracker was because this was a requirement for the eCard. This animation was also made to quickly meet a deadline.
  • The remake was actually remade twice, with the second being slightly shorter.
